Closet Corner Shelving and/or Hanging is Easy If You Have Right System

Designing the corner walls of your closet can be tricky, it is a balancing act between shelving and hanging space.  Some closet systems force the use of corner units; for which you have to waste two feet on one side of the wall, and another two feet on the other side of the wall to accommodate the corner unit and end up with useless narrow opening in the front.  While other systems force you to choose between hanging or shelving space to accommodate the design of the their systems.

IKEA Recalls Wardrobe Mirror Door Due To Safety Issues

IKEA and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada jointly announced the voluntary recall due to safety concerns.  The product being recalled is PAX AURLAND wardrobe mirror doors.  The mirror door is made of foil-coated particleboard and the mirror of glass. The mirror is secured with metal fastenings at top and bottom.  The CPSC said the mirror glass can detach from the wardrobe door, fall and shatter.

Formaldehyde is Classified as a Carcinogen by US Health Agency

The typical material that is used to build closet organizers and closet systems, like Particle Board, and MDF contains Formaldehyde, which has been classified as a carcinogen by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The HHS describes as: "a science-based document that identifies chemicals and biological agents that may put people at increased risk for cancer."

The move was necessary despite the economic downfall and declining home sales because the demand for quality high-end closet organizers sold at a reasonable price, and delivered nationwide is rising.

A so-called “green” home should have eco-friendly, Formaldehyde-free closet organizers, Right?

As environmental health examiner, Linda Kincaid, MPH, CIH found out that was not the case. An upscale development company advertised GreenPoint Certified homes that had high levels of Formaldehyde, especially around closet organizers in the bedroom, and kitchen cabinets. Levels high enough to cause reparatory irritation, headaches, and nausea.

Solid Wood Closets Featured at the 2009 Pasadena Showcase House of Design

Solid Wood Closets was invited by two design companies, Sensi Design and Advanced Construction and Design, to design and install two walk-in closets at the 2009 Pasadena Showcase House of Design.

When asked why they chose Solid Wood Closets for their project, they both replied by saying that this is a very nice mansion with elegant furnishing and decor, it will be a shame to install Melamine closet organizers in our spaces, we definitely wanted solid wood.
